MJ and Abdul met when MJ took Abdul's angel investing workshop. They became friends over shared professional interests, and realized they could build something together. Abdul handles tech and financial infrastructure; MJ brings the real estate and design expertise and boots-on-the-ground knowledge. Put them together, and GoldenWay exists.

MJ spent over a decade in Detroit running renovations and flips, learning what makes a property actually worth buying. She's an artist who owned a painting and renovation company, and later a house-flipping company, where design intelligence — smart, intentional choices that turn a house into a profitable home — became as important as the numbers. After enough people kept asking "is this a good deal?", that hands-on real estate and design experience became the backbone of GoldenWay's scoring system.

Investor, entrepreneur, and technology executive with over 25 years of experience across finance and tech. He began as a financial advisor before moving into technology, where he built and exited a pioneering SaaS company. Today he is the Founding Partner of Ajo Angels Collective & Shujaa Capital — an angel investing education platform and pre-seed venture fund supporting underrepresented founders building the next generation of companies.
